International Space Station

Stationed 200 miles from Earth in Space, the third brightest object in our nights' sky is the International Space Station (ISS).  The space station has been orbiting the Earth for twelve years now, occupied for ten.  It went into space on November 2nd 1998 and in 2000 when personnel moved into the station.  Less than 200 people have been to the ISS & now NASA have launched a web app which will send alerts to advise when the ISS is visible in our skies.  As it travels it is visible to the human eye and it is estimated that 90% of the population, may see this craft as it orbits our planet.
