A challenging fence , jumping into a dark space from a bright airy one.
Here, riding Scots Ranger, Brian Coleman (Ireland) leaps through, with smooth sure footing races forward and clear of the woodland.

Spills & Thrills 28th May 2011 at Tattersalls CCI 3*** Part IV
First to hit the course for the CCI 3 was Irish man Capt. Brain Curran Cournane travelling on "The Sally Rod".
Here is his progress through the combination series. Bet the Irish Field loved this fence.
This pano gives a better sense of the fence during the process, half the horse was lost in the middle of the 3rd element ah well… these things happen.. but the pic shows the fence… so decided to use it anyway

Now here is Sarah Ennis on Sugar Brown Babe doing the final fence on the water complex in serious style. Placed 14th overall in the CCI 3 Star for her exact performance.
Do note that the long route was taken in this instance, which gives a direct line.

The Jack McNeely Perpetual Cup, Lough Conn County Mayo
A fishing competition hosted by the Cloghans Angling Club in honour of Jack McNeely.
A large group of individuals hit the lake early Saturday morning to return late afternoon to the Lodge pub on the lake shore to weigh in all the catch and see who had triumphed on the day.
Seamus Kelly was the overall winner capturing a fine trout weighing in at 3lbs 26. By far the largest trout of the day.
Six prizes in all and the triumphant group gathered outside The Lodge for a group picture after the winners names were announced.

Noel Armstrong & Niall Hamrocks Golf Memorial Classic
Enniscrone Golf Club, A fitting venue -
for Noel & Niall's Golf Memorial Classic as both were keen golfers & members of the Club for many years.
A wonderful team of people turned out on the day, travelling from all sides of the country from Belfast, Dundalk to Ballina. Not forgetting the crew from the UK.
The course was its usual self, in that it was a challenge for all & those who dressed appropriately benefitted most.
Even those well versed in the layout of the course, found the conditions challenging and no doubt Noel & Niall were having a chuckle, about the souls battling their way around those 18 holes.
Never mind a refreshing drink awaited everyone in the Club house.. need I mention that Guinness was the drink of the day.. though a few did reach for the brandy.
And what happened next….
Adjourned for the evening, to the “Clinic”… where else other than the PJ Duffy Inn in Ballina, for some rousing jazz tunes

North Mayo Harriers–out in force at their 2011 Show
As with all outdoor events, the weather is critical to the success of the day, & the bank holiday Monday did not disappoint.
Check out the blue skies in the pictures, it is testament to the wonderful weather.
Though the wind played havoc with our hair.. a hat was an essential piece of kit.
And one person who donned a very stylish hat was Sheila, who may I add was looking great on this special day – her birthday.
An exciting day, full of thrills & spills.
Check out a small selection of pictures from the day
Another eventful day winding to a close, with fences dismantled, & set aside for their next day out.
The sun sets on the 2011 show… here’s looking forward to 2012. Need I mention it will be the olympics next year.. so lots to look forward too .
