Barnfield’s Dressage League draws to a close

A wintry day, with a dynamic wind , which blew everyone around the arena, was the final setting for a wonderful finale at Barnfield House Equestrian Centre.

Release of the Hounds

Hounds eager for off, released from their travel box.  They certainly hit the ground running & literally spun around searching to pick up a scent.
Large athletic animals, muscular animals built for speed.  Certainly reminiscent of the pointer but with a tail that has a lot more character. 
One particular dog, who by my estimation was the lead alpha dog, immediately started “talking” to the huntsman.
When you look at the image, you can easily imagine, his howls.

North Mayo Harriers out & about with the Hounds… Part I

Wind, wind & more wind… it certainly was windy.  Which made manes fly everywhere – plus all the crazy stone wall jumping.  Nothing like a fresh strong sea breeze to make you feel ALIVE!

Barnfield Equestrian Centre– Dressage

Dressage, is a skilled technical display requiring discipline & poise.  All of which were evident at the Barnfield House Equestrian Centre today.
Competitors took to the dressage arena to perform their tests in weather which certainly tested their mettle.  Mild weather aficionados' need not have turned up for it was a bitterly cold day with wind & rain (sleet) in some instances & they would not have stood the pace.
